Workshop on Planning Strategies for Urban Recovery in Times of COVID-19 Santo Domingo, National District
Participants (M/F) : Key actors of the National District City Council (ADN) involved in the proposed initiatives (public officials with power of intervention and / or decision, or delegated for the purposes). The selected local government is the DNA through the departments and directorates whose powers are directly related to the development of the initiative in question, with the following priority participations: • Technical secretary • Directorate of Urban Planning • Directorate of Institutional Planning • Office of the Ombudsman and Use of Public Spaces • Representatives of the Council of Aldermen
Main Objectives: (i) Socialize and recapitulate the main results of the prioritization of initiatives for post-COVID-19 economic recovery obtained in the Validation Workshop. (ii) Reflect and agree on the different elements inherent to the planning and implementation of the proposed initiatives.
Description: This is the third workshop to be held with the city of Santo Domingo under this project. The first workshop presented the gaps identified in the resilience diagnosis for the city, followed by a prioritization workshop on key proposed actions, which culminated in a third workshop where possible strategies and guidelines for recovery were addressed. In this Planning workshop, the key actors of the local government of the National District reflected and agreed on the different elements inherent to the planning and implementation of the proposed initiatives: i. Plan to give the city back to the people: Recovery of sidewalks and green spaces in the national district ii. Development of a health crisis management protocol: A flexible approach to various contingencies
